The following is a simplified explanation of one construction method
for a yacht constructed at Schooner Creek Boat Works.

Step One
The Design

The design process starts
with a person with a dream
- a desire for a unique boat.

The designer or builder is approached with some ideas, and shown pictures of boats that are not quite “right”. Together, they look for the third member of the team.

The designer will submit a preliminary drawing to the owner for his approval;
it then goes to the builder
for a cost estimate.

With the cost estimate in hand, the drawings are authorized,
a down payment is made,
a contract signed, and the materials are ordered.
