Schooner Creek Boat Works is looking for a Parts Manager to join our team!

 

Overview:

The Parts Manager position at Schooner Creek Boat Works is a key component to the flow and productivity of our business. This position is responsible for the parts and materials going in and out of the shop. The Parts Manager reports to the General Manager but works directly with each department within our company. This position works closely with:

  • The technicians and the service writers to meet customer deadlines and provide pricing/availability for estimates.

  • The accounting department by providing the invoices/receipts from received orders.

 

The person who fills this position needs to understand the importance of communication, transparency, and proactivity as it relates to the procurement of parts and materials. This person will also be responsible for inventory management and annual counts.

What You'll Do:

  • Fill orders requested by technicians, keeping urgency in mind

  • Create and monitor purchase orders (POs)

  • Create/maintain positive, beneficial relationships with vendors and reps

  • Place orders in a way that considers both price and availability

  • Monitor the parts department and “check-out” parts needed by techs

  • Asking questions prior to making assumptions

  • Maintain stock levels in the parts department

  • Handle all shipping and receiving (UPS, FedEx, USPS, LTL)

  • Process returns and RMAs

  • Help cash customers over the phone and in-person

  • Oversee parts driver

  • Maintain the cleanliness/tidiness of the parts department

 

What You Bring:

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Computer literate

  • Willingness to learn

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Understanding of margins and markups

  • Pleasant phone presence

  • Handles workplace pressure well

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

​

Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

​
