Haven is a Wylie 48. She was launched in 2011 at Schooner Creek Boat Works. She was designed as a collaboration between Tom Wylie, the designer and Kevin and Shauna Flanigan, the owners. Both the Galley and Settee are athwartship in a cavernous pilothouse. Additionally, an aft stateroom is to starboard and the navigation table is to port. Her large cockpit has access to the engine room and aft lazarettes. Forward of the pilot house steps down to the crew bunks with a divider curtain across from the head with an ample shower and sit-in bathtub. The forward V Berth is apportioned with custom wood storage lockers and drawers.
Haven is powered by a 40 horsepower Yanmar motor. Her fractional rig is a Ballenger spar which carries over 1000 square feet of Doyle sails. One of her 6 Harken winches is electric drive. She has ample power from the Ocean Planet Energy system including Genasun Lithium batteries and Solbien solar panels.
She was built of fiberglass layers over foam core with epoxy finish. The decks are built with wood over foam. Haven draws 8 feet and weighs 19,000 pounds. She is fast and friendly.
