Schooner Creek Boat Works is looking for a Marine Mechanic to join our team!
We are looking to hire a skilled Marine Mechanic to inspect, service, and repair marine engines for our clients. You may also be required to address problems with boat steering and hydraulic systems. To ensure success as a Marine Mechanic, you should have extensive knowledge of motorboat engines, be able to work on land and at sea, and be able to diagnose problems with engine systems.
What You'll Do:
Test the performance of marine engines and electrical systems
Carry out services and minor repairs on outboard, inboard, and ship engines
Conduct plumbing and intake repairs
Replace broken or worn-out engine parts
Complete service records and repair documents
Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe, clean work area
Perform work to quality standards.
Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned
What You Bring:
18 years of age or older; high school graduate or equivalent
5 years of directly related work experience
Skills to use a wide variety of hand tools
Working knowledge of components of diverse nature, marine machinery, and their attachments
Detailed knowledge of the operating characteristics of the involved machinery, equipment, systems, and their functional relationships
Knowledge of applicable installation and repair procedures, methods, and trade practices
Full-time, Monday through Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
